Job summary

Wesley Gardens Rehab and Nursing in Rochester, NY, is seeking a part-time weekend-only Cook to join our Food and Nutrition team. The role focuses on supporting patient meals, following menus, and maintaining high sanitation standards in a 200-bed skilled nursing facility.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in healthcare cooking, strong large-scale food prep knowledge, and excellent customer service and communication skills. ServSafe certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of cook experience in healthcare.
• Strong knowledge of large-scale and therapeutic food preparation.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• ServSafe certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing menus and assemble supplies for daily meal prep.
• Evaluate food preparation quality.
• Prepare and cook meals.
• Perform kitchen tasks under supervision.
• Work on tray line during meals.
• General kitchen cleanup.
• Hand wash and sanitize pots and pans.

Cook Responsibilities

• Reviewing menus, assembling food supplies and equipment for daily preparation of meals
• Evaluate food preparation
• Prepare and cook meals
• Perform tasks within the kitchen as needed under the director's supervision
• Working on tray line during meal service
• General cleaning up of kitchen
• Hand washing and sanitizing of pot and pans

Cook Requirements

• 2 or more years experience as a cook in a healthcare setting
