Job summary

Personal Healthcare Management LLC is seeking a kitchen/dietary staff member for hospital or skilled care facilities in New York. Duties include planning and preparing meals, ensuring sanitary standards, and coordinating with departments to maintain timely meal production.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of dietary experience, can read and follow English instructions, and can lift up to 50 pounds. The role emphasizes safe food handling, portion control, and inventory management.

Qualifications

• 1 year dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred.
• Must be able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Review menu prior to preparation of food.
• Assist in planning regular and special diet menus in accordance with sanitary regulations.
• Assist in establishing food service production to assure that meals are prepared on time.
• Prepare meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
• Prepare food in accordance with recipes and special diets.
• Prepare substitute foods.
• Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
• Coordinate dietary services with other departments as necessary.
• Assist in inventorying and storing incoming food, supplies, etc.
• Ensure that food and supplies for the next meal are readily available.
• Make sure that all food items are properly stored, covered and dated in all refrigerators.
• Ensure that the kitchen is maintained in a clean and safe manner by assuring necessary equipment is maintained.
• Assist maintain food storage areas in a clean and properly arranged manner at all times.
• Report all hazardous conditions/equipment to the FSD or designee.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications & Requirements:High School/ GED

1 year dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred but not required with experience in the following areas: Must be able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must be knowledgeable of dietary practices and procedures. Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., the appearance of dietary service area, and must perform regular inspections of dietary service for sanitation, safety, and proper performance of assigned duties
