Job summary

Sunrise Senior Living in Charlottesville, VA is seeking a Cook to prepare meals daily, following standardized recipes and menus. You will ensure quality, meet dietary modifications, and maintain a safe, clean kitchen environment to support residents’ health and enjoyment.

You will record temperatures, stock and date foods, and follow safety regulations. When the Dining Services Coordinator is unavailable, you may lead production, ensuring a pleasant dining experience for residents.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals according to standardized recipes and menus.
• Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet Sunrise standards.
• Follow dietary modifications and special meal requirements.
• Record production quantities and food safety temperatures.
• Stock, rotate, date, and store food per safety regulations.
• Maintain clean kitchen, storage, and equipment areas.
• Complete cleaning logs and equipment maintenance reports.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and OSHA guidelines.
• Support dishwashing and dining service as needed.
• Lead food production in the absence of the Dining Services Coordinator.
