Job summary

Cook Heritage Hill Assisted Living & Memory Care in Michigan is seeking a part-time cook for 6am–2pm and 11am–7pm shifts. You will prepare and serve planned menus, maintain quality standards in dining services, and support residents with dietary needs.

Responsibilities include menu-based cooking, safe food handling, pleasing plate presentation, dining room service, and assisting with inventory while upholding high hospitality and sanitation standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Six months cooking/baking experience in a commercial setting preferred.
  • Ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare meals based on preplanned menus and ensure nutritional balance.
  • Prepare meals with consideration of resident preferences and food safety standards.
  • Ensure pleasing plate presentation for all meals.
  • Support residents with special diets as requested.
  • Complete dining room service including setup, service and cleanup with high hospitality standards.
  • Assist with inventory and maintain supplies in all kitchenettes.
  • Follow sanitation schedule for kitchen equipment and dining areas.
  • Participate in preparation for special events.
  • Promote positive relationships with residents, staff and visitors.

Cook Heritage Hill Assisted Living & Memory Care

POSITION SUMMARY

Part Time 6am 2pm and 11am 7pm

Responsible for preparing and serving planned menu as well as maintaining quality standards in the dining services department

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Prepare tasteful nutritionally balanced meals based on pre planned menus
  • Prepare meals with consideration of resident preferences and food safety standards
  • Responsible for ensuring pleasing plate presentation for all meals
  • Ensuring resident special diets are offered and prepared recognizing a residents right to choose
  • Complete dining room service including set up service and clean up with high hospitality standards
  • Assist with inventory and maintain supplies in all common area kitchenettes
  • Follow the sanitation schedule for kitchen equipment and dining room to maintain standard of sanitation and cleanliness
  • Participate in preparation for special events
  • Promote positive relationships with residents staff and visitors
  • Perform any other duties as requested within the scope of responsibility and requirements of the job

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • High school diplomaGED is required
  • Six months of experience with cooking and baking from scratch in a commercial setting is preferred
