Job summary

Wateree Community Actions in Camden, SC is seeking a kitchen assistant to prepare daily meals for children at Kershaw HS. The position is hourly and focuses on safe, nutritious meal service.

Under supervision, you will cook and serve meals, maintain CACFP records, and uphold a clean, sanitary kitchen following USDA guidelines. Ability to lift 10–40 lbs and attend required trainings is required.

Job Details

Job Location: Kershaw HS - Camden, SC, Salary Range: $14.34 - $15.03Hourly, Major Functions: Under the direct supervision of the Head Cook this person will be responsible for preparing daily meals for children.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for preparing, cooking and serving meals to children
• Must keep accurate records of Child and Adult Care Food program (CACFP) based on Head Start guidelines and USDA
• Maintains a clean and sanitary kitchen area utilizing CACFP standards of sanitatio

Qualifications: Knowledge and Abilities

• Good written and verbal skills
• Must attend all trainings

Education and Experience

High School Diploma/GED and have 6 months of food preparation and service experience

Other Requirements

• Must have a current physical exam and TB screening, and submit to each every two years
• Must have a current first aid certificate and CPR training or receive within the first 3 months of hire
• Must successfully pass a SLED/FBI background check
• Ability to respond positively to Child Abuse/Neglect clearance check and criminal records check
