Job summary

• Assists with preparation of food for special functions.
• Prepares vegetables and/or main entrees for Mount Auburn Hospital patients and cafeteria following recipes.
• Prepares soups, sauces, and stuffing for patient services.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary work area.
• Sets up food for tray lines in appropriate sizes.
• Tests cooked food by taste, temperature, smell, and appearance.
• Backs patient tray line on grill/broiler as needed.
• Follows batch cooking and waste logs with written utilization plans.
• Begins patient food preparation for the following day.
• Delegates duties to cooks’ helpers.
• Works to improve overall department quality.
