Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare nutritious meals following established recipes and menus.
• Assist with food preparation, cooking, serving, and kitchen setup.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout food preparation areas.
• Properly store food and monitor inventory to minimize waste.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Support meal service for students, staff, and special events.
• Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries.
• Work collaboratively with the culinary team to ensure efficient operations.
• Maintain a positive, professional, and customer-service-oriented attitude.

With a 200-year legacy of serving children in Boston and a 48-year partnership with the Boston Public Schools (BPS), the Island is a beacon for experiential education, empowering young people through hands‑on learning and skill building and outdoor adventure and exploration. Requirements

• Full time work schedule of Monday-Friday , 8 AM-4:30 PM ( 7:45 AM @Dock for Ferry pick up).
• All Work is onsite @ Cathleen Stone Island, requiring a daily 25-minute ferry commute to and from the Island and the ability to work effectively in an outdoor, mission-driven environment
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs
• Must be able to be on feet and/or active an average of 8+ hours per day
