Job summary

Prairie Ridge Beaver Dam is seeking a friendly Cook to prepare home-style meals for our residents in Beaver Dam, WI. You will help with snacks and desserts, ensure meals meet dietary needs, and engage with residents to create a warm, homelike dining experience.

Typical shifts offer better culinary hours and a supportive team. A high school diploma and ability to pass a background check are required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare delicious, home-style meals, snacks, and desserts from our menus.

A Day in the Life (What You’ll Actually Do):

• Be the Flavor Maker: Prepare delicious, home-style meals, snacks, and desserts from our menus that make our residents' mouths water.
• Cater to the VIPs: Modify meals to accommodate specific dietary needs and resident preferences (because everyone deserves a meal they love!).
• Create Joy: Step out of the kitchen to say hello, chat with the residents in the dining room, and see the smiles your food creates.
• Keep Things Sparkling: Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment, adhering to all food safety guidelines.
• Team Up: Work closely with the dietary aides and caregiving team to ensure meal service is smooth, warm, and welcoming.

Who We’re Looking For:

• The Vibe Check: You are positive, patient, and understand that for our residents, a great meal is about more than just food, it’s about feeling at home.
• The Experience: Previous cooking experience is highly preferred, but we are willing to train someone with basic culinary skills and a fantastic attitude!
• The Basics: High school diploma or equivalent. Must be 18+ years old.
• The Logistics: Reliable, punctual, and able to pass a background check.
• The Muscle: Ability to stand for your shift, bend, and lift pots, pans, and food supplies (up to 30-50 lbs).
