Job summary

UCHealth Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion in Aurora, CO is seeking a PRN cook to prepare meals for patients, the cafeteria, and catering services. This onsite role requires adherence to standardized recipes and timelines to ensure meals are ready when needed.

Responsibilities include reviewing menus, planning cooking schedules with supervision, and following safety and sanitation guidelines in a fast-paced environment. The position offers hourly pay based on experience, with benefits through UCHealth.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED, or UCHealth-administered basic competency test.
• Minimum 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Reviews menu and special orders to determine types and quantities of food items to be prepared.
• Follows standardized recipes in preparation of all foods. Plans cooking schedule with supervisor and/or exec chef to ensure food will be ready at specified times.
• Confers with supervisor and/or exec chef regarding modified diet preparation and use of leftovers.
• Adheres to all applicable guidelines regarding the storage, handling and preparation of food as well as in the sanitation and maintenance of work area.
• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Department: Cafeteria

Work Schedule: PRN, 20.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Flex

Pay: $19.10 - $24.83 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option

Summary

Cooks and prepares food for distribution to patients, the cafeteria, and catering services.

Requirements
