Job summary

Arbor Terrace Asheville, part of The Arbor Company, seeks a full-time Cook to create fresh, flavorful meals and deliver high-quality service in a warm, upscale senior living community. Flexible full-time schedule available: 6 am–2 pm and 12 pm–7 pm.

You will work with established recipes, assist with stock and safety standards, and support residents with courteous care. Culinary training or restaurant experience is preferred; knowledge of kitchen basics and dietary needs is valued.

Qualifications

• Culinary degree or training or restaurant cooking experience preferred.
• Knowledge of kitchen basics, sanitation and food handling.
• Experience with special diets and long-term care preferred.
• Experience with large batch cooking (100+ people).

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals using established recipes and menu cycles.
• Assist with stock deliveries and rotation; maintain log compliance.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety per schedules and protocols.
• Coordinate with Dining Director on prep and service flow.

As a Cook at The Arbor Company, your work matters. Here’s why:

• Culinary degree or training, or experience cooking in a restaurant environment preferred
• Knowledge of kitchen basics, sanitation, food handling, portion control, and cooking procedures.
• Previous experience with special diets and long-term care is preferred.
• Previous experience with large batch cooking (100 people) at plus.
• Ability to maintain positive resident relations through a courteous, cooperative and understanding manner.
