Job summary

Cedar Court Services in Minnesota is seeking a part-time Cook to prepare, cook, season, and serve meals for residents in a senior living community. This role emphasizes food safety, portion control, and teamwork to support daily dining service.

Responsibilities include ordering and stocking supplies, operating kitchen equipment, and maintaining a clean kitchen and dining area. The role offers a weekend rotation and a competitive hourly pay range of $16.00–$20.00, based on experience.

Qualifications

What You\'ll Do:

• Prepare, cook, season, and serve a variety of meals and snacks according to menus and recipes while ensuring food quality and proper portioning.


• Order, stock, and organize food and kitchen supplies, including retrieving ingredients and preparing items for meal service.


• Operate and monitor kitchen equipment and cooking temperatures to ensure food is prepared safely and properly.


• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen and dining environment, including dishwashing, cleaning tasks, and assisting dietary staff as needed.

What You\'ll Need:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred


• One - three months of experience in a long-term care setting preferred


• Knowledge of food safety and food preparation


• Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills. Must be able to communicate, read, and writefluently in English


• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment
