Job summary

SpectraCare is seeking a Mental Health Technician II for our CoOccurring Group Home in Midland City, Alabama. This is a full-time, awake position with a 12-hour shift and a rotating schedule. You will teach basic living skills and support residents in a therapeutic setting.

Essential duties include meal prep, documentation, transportation of clients, and crisis intervention. Strong communication, crisis skills, and knowledge of mental health are required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of mental illness and/or substance use.
• Knowledge and understanding of crisis intervention techniques.
• Patience and emotional stability.
• Ability to communicate professionally with clients and staff, in writing and verbally.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of job tasks.
• Ability to adhere to HIPAA and confidentiality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic living skills and conduct group/individual sessions.
• Prepare meals and snacks per policy and assist with proper food handling.
• Document progress notes and incident reports in the client record.
• Safely transport clients in vehicles and operate assistance equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of home, kitchen, and living spaces.
• Respond to emergencies and crisis situations in a professional manner.
• Complete required trainings and certifications in a timely manner.
• Perform tasks with minimal supervision and in collaboration with staff.
