Job summary

IWS Family Health in Chicago seeks an experienced Chief Operating Officer to drive day-to-day operations across clinical, administrative, and support functions. You will lead growth, implement scalable systems, and ensure compassionate, whole-person care.

Reporting to the CEO, you will standardize workflows, optimize patient access, and build strong cross-functional accountability while preserving IWS’s mission and values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, public health, business administration, nursing, nonprofit administration, or related field.
• Significant progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations at director level or above.
• Experience leading complex operations across multiple functions, sites, or locations.
• Data-driven approach to improve operational performance and measurable results.
• Experience opening, scaling, or standardizing healthcare sites or programs.
• Ability to build trust, establish accountability, and lead across boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Build a consistent multi-site operating model with standardized workflows, staffing, and performance expectations.
• Improve patient access, scheduling, intake, referrals, and front-desk operations to enhance patient experience.
• Lead operational readiness for growth, scaling sites, facilities, and services.
• Establish clear ownership and accountability across clinical, administrative, and support functions.
• Translate regulatory requirements into daily practice with HRSA HIPAA PCMH alignment.
• Use data and KPIs to drive improvements and report performance to leadership and board.
• Support financial sustainability by optimizing productivity, costs, and revenue cycle.
• Develop leaders and cultivate a culture of kindness, excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
