Job summary

Activ8 Recruitment & Solutions is representing an international client in Memphis, TN, seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to design and implement automated system controls for large-scale conveyor systems. The role emphasizes PLC programming, control panel design, and hardware configuration.

You will collaborate with mechanical engineers to read drawings, create GUI specifications, and oversee on-site construction.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
3+ years of experience with conveyor controls design.
Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLC).
Ability to travel 25-50% depending on project needs.
Ability to read mechanical drawings.
Overtime, weekends and holidays may be required; comp time provided for holiday work.

Responsibilities

Power up electrical systems and configure hardware per client requirements.
Design control panels, including enclosure layouts and HMI/GUI based on client requirements; PLC programming for customized automation systems.
Collaborate with mechanical engineers to read drawings and develop electrical schematics.
Create GUI specifications per client requirements.
Supervise control system construction and installation at client sites.
Travel to customer sites to supervise construction and provide technical support for modifications and troubleshooting.
