Job summary

Turner Supply Company is seeking a Conveyor System Technician to service and repair conveyor systems in our Mobile belt shop and at customer sites. The role requires proficiency with hand and power tools, basic math, and reading measuring devices. On-call availability and occasional travel are expected.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to obtain TWIC and safety certifications as required. Physical work includes lifting up to 75 lbs and climbing ladders.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and repair conveyor products in shop and at customer sites.
• Maintain safety, quality, and timely completion of duties.

• Operate and manage basic tools to assemble or repair equipment.

Job Title: Conveyor System TechnicianDepartment: Mobile Belt ShopFLSA Status: Hourly Non-ExemptDirect Report: Conveyor Products ManagerManagerial Responsibility: NALocation: Mobile, ALJob Summary: The Conveyor System Technician is a service provider position, working in the belt shop and in the field at customer locations with responsibilities to install, service, and repair conveyor products. The ideal candidate would be proficient in the use of common hand tools and power tools which is standard for many craft labor technicians.Essential Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesDisplay a sense of urgency and adhere to a culture of quality, safety, and adherence to company core values.Maintain a record of proper attendance, performance, and the timely completion of all required duties.Have proper and legal driving license records that are sufficient to be insurable by the company insurance carrier and be capable of driving service trucks up to GVW.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure along with the ability to read and understand measuring devices.Must be able to obtain TWIC card and all other safety certifications or clearances as required by Turner Supply customers.Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding and lift and move up to 75 lbs.Must be available to work after hours, weekends, and holidays and be responsive to after hour, weekend, and holiday emergency calls.Must be able to work independently or with little supervision in the shop or on job sites.Must follow all procedures as instructed for scope of work, and safety procedures.Basic Job Requirements:Good interpersonal skillGood communication – verbal and written skillsGood decision making and problem-solving skillsMust be able to work safelyMust be available for work 24/7 – on-call as neededBasic math proficiencyMust be able to work proficiently under minimal supervisionMust be able to use tape measure, Hand/ power toolsMust be able to follow all safety procedures and use proper PPE for task performedEducationHigh School Diploma or Certified EquivalentCertificate from a Technical or Vocational Program Strongly DesiredTravel: This is an on-call position and may require overnight trips to various customers.Work Environment: The work environment will vary based on the job, the location, the customer and the weather. Outside conditions will vary depending on the weather.Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The conveyor system technician has a verified amount of physical demands. While working in the warehouse or assisting with an outside customer calls this function may be required to be in outside weather elements – rain, heat, snow, etc. The conveyor system technician is required to lift heavy products or operate industrial equipment.
