Job summary

Ultimation Industries in Roseville, MI is seeking an Application Engineer to translate customer requirements into technically sound conveyor solutions. You will develop conceptual designs for various conveyor types and collaborate with vendors for pricing and part selection.

The role covers proposal development, BOM estimation, and engineering handoff post-purchase order, with a focus on repeatable designs and continuous improvement. A bachelor’s degree and 3–7 years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–7 years experience in conveyor or material handling engineering.
• Proficient in AutoCAD for layout and concept development.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual conveyor designs including power and free, enclosed track, monorail, inverted, and automotive assembly conveyors.
• Review customer specifications, layouts, and process requirements to define optimal solutions.
• Conduct site assessments, measurements, and data collection for accurate designs.
• Create AutoCAD layouts, budgets, technical specs, and scope documents.
• Perform chain pull calculations, load analyses, and throughput studies.
