Job summary

Baldwin Supply Company in Hibbing, MN is seeking a Belt Technician to install, repair, splice, and maintain conveyor belting systems at customer sites and in our shop. You will perform belt fabrication, vulcanizing, pulley lagging, and related services with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

The role requires reading and following work orders, using hand and power tools, and coordinating with customers to deliver reliable belt solutions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior conveyor belting, industrial maintenance, mechanical repair, construction, mining or related field preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to read and write English and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Basic mathematical skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice, repair, and replace conveyor belting systems.
• Perform vulcanizing, pulley lagging, belt fabrication, and related conveyor services.
• Rig, cut, and position conveyor belt materials using appropriate equipment and methods.
• Operate winches, vulcanizers, forklifts, and other equipment safely and effectively.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to cut, shape, splice, and fit conveyor belt materials.
• Prepare and apply adhesives, glues, and bonding cements.
• Inspect work products and installations to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer specifications.
• Complete required paperwork, work orders, and service documentation accurately.
• Follow all company, customer, and regulatory safety requirements.
• Maintain professional communication with customers and coworkers.
• Work overtime, weekends, and varying shifts as required to meet customer needs.
• Drive company vehicles and equipment safely.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
