Job summary

York Container Co in York, PA is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to support maintenance with electrical/controls projects across production lines. You will lead installations, develop project plans, and oversee PLC programming, CAD layouts, and upgrades to conveyors while coordinating with Engineering and Maintenance leadership.

You will mentor maintenance staff on automation, stay compliant with safety policies, and drive improvements to production efficiency in a fast-paced plant

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
• 2–5 years Industrial Electrical Maintenance experience preferred.
• Proficient in PLCs, automation, and electrical troubleshooting.
• Ability to work extra hours and weekends as needed.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with new equipment installs and CAD layouts.
• Upgrade conveyors and automate lines.
• Manage PLC programming and control systems upgrades.
• Train maintenance staff on automation and PLCs.
• Ensure safe plant operations and GMP compliance.
