Job summary

ProAmpac Holdings, Inc. in Rocky Mount, VA is seeking a hands-on Operator to run converting bag machinery and lead a shift of operators. You will ensure production targets are met, maintain quality standards, and mentor team members.

Experience in converting machines and prior leadership is preferred. The role includes night shifts with a 223 rotating schedule and training on day shift, with full benefits and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• HS/GED required; AS preferred.
• 3+ years' experience operating a machine or in a related field is required.
• Prior experience operating converting machines is preferred.
• Prior Leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Converting Bag Machine with technical expertise.
• Lead and coach a team of converting operators to meet production goals, coordinating activities of team members as necessary.
• Monitor processes to address issues, minimize downtime, and maximize efficiency, seeking opportunities to improve manufacturing practices and anticipate inefficiencies.
• Enforce quality control measures to meet specifications and customer requirements.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement solutions, collaborating with maintenance and other departments.
• Train and mentor employees.
• Support an environment aligned with ProAmpac's core values and safety protocols.
• Communicate production status and performance trends to management.

Pay or shift range: $19 USD to $24 USD

The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.

Essential Duties and Tasks

This position is responsible for operating converting bag machinery as well as ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining quality standards, and providing technical leadership and training to a team of operators to meet production targets. Duties include but are not limited to the following:

• Operate a Converting Bag Machine with technical expertise
• Lead and coach a team of converting operators to meet production goals, coordinating or assisting with activities of team members as necessary.
• Monitors processes to address issues, minimize downtime, and maximize efficiency, seeks out opportunities to improve established manufacturing practices, and anticipates, and anticipates inefficiencies, bringing constructive solutions.
• Enforces quality control measures to meet specifications and customer requirements.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement solutions, collaborating with maintenance teams and any other applicable departments.
• Trains and provides mentorship to employees.
• Support an environment that aligns with ProAmpac's core values and safety protocols
• Communicates production status and performance trends to management.

Key Qualifications & Experience

• HS/GED required; AS preferred
• 3+ years' experience operating a machine or in a related filed is required
• Prior experience operating converting machines is preferred
• Prior Leadership experience preferred.

Hours:

• 223 Rotating Schedule
• Nights | 7pm- 7am
• ***Training done on Day shift
