Job summary

Kampack, Inc. in McDonough, GA is seeking a machine operator to safely run Flexo and/or Die Cutter centers on the second shift (3pm–11:30pm).

The role requires reading job cards, setting up dies, and maintaining quality and production data while supporting maintenance and cross-training across related equipment. Applicants should have a High School diploma or GED and 2–5 years in manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 2–5 years in manufacturing, preferably on high-speed Flexos or Rotary Die-Cutters.
  • Experience as Operator and Assistant Operator.

Responsibilities

  • Set up rails, print, and die cut section on Flexo according to setup techniques.
  • Inspect dies before and after runs and perform necessary repairs.
  • Ensure cutting die bolts are in place and tightened.
  • MOnitor box quality, check liner, warp, size and print; inspect anilox rolls.
  • Maximize equipment utilization by running at capacity and speed.
  • Cross-train with First Helper, Flexo Stacker, and Bundlers.
  • Complete reports: Production Data, Machine Status, Safety, Quality Data.
  • Submit maintenance work orders; assist with maintenance.
  • Follow company policies and maintain housekeeping.
  • Adhere to production schedule and suggest optimizations.

Job Summary

Responsible for the safe operation of Flexo and/or Die Cutter Machine Centers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set-up rails, print, and die cut section on Flexo accurately in accordance with proper setup techniques.
  • Inspect all dies before and after run to ensure that any necessary repairs are made before the next run.
  • Ensure all bolts for cutting dies are in place and tightly secured.
  • Monitor box quality, including, but not limited to, loose liner, warp, correct size, and print. Check anilox rolls for damage.
  • Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed.
  • Train and assist First Helper, Flexo Stacker, and Bundlers with job duties on the machine. Cross-train on other machines.
  • Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to: Production Data, Machine Operational Status, Safety Data, Quality Data.
  • Turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs. Be proactive in the maintenance of equipment.
  • Switch duties with First Helper as necessary.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
  • Adheres to production schedule. Makes recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality and service goals. Reports any unusual scheduling issues to Supervisor.
  • Additional duties may be assigned by management.
Required Skills
  • Ability to read and understand shop cards, print cards and die cut diagrams.
  • Ability to deal with other employees and management in a courteous, tactful and patient manner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Skill in operation of listed tools and equipment.
  • Good understanding of machinery and good mechanical ability/aptitude.
  • Ability to interpret quality standards.
  • Ability to read and understand scheduling sheets.
  • Ability to read and understand a tape measure.
QualificationsRequired Experience:
  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2 to 5 year’s experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably on high-speed Flexos and/or Rotary Die-Cutters (preferred)
  • Experience as Operator and Asst Operator
Other Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to read and required to follow instructions on factory masters.
  • Good performance/work history
