Job summary

Georgia-Pacific's Rincon facility in Rincon, GA is recruiting for a Converting Advanced Technician to support shutdowns, maintenance, and asset reliability across tissue, towel, and napkin lines.

This role emphasizes hazard identification, safe work execution, troubleshooting pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and coaching team members to improve operating performance.

Qualifications

• Two or more years in reliability maintenance or similar manufacturing maintenance roles.
• Experience mentoring and coaching team members.
• Troubleshooting pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Troubleshooting mechanical and/or electrical systems.
• Experience supporting asset reliability initiatives and shutdown planning.

Responsibilities

• Proactively identify hazards, mitigate risk, and support safe execution of shutdown and maintenance work through issuing permits.
• Adhere to high standards for quality and product safety.
• Troubleshoot assets and processes in the retail product system.
• Develop operating limits, OBC and lube routes, planned work, and vendor parts strategies; provide feedback.
• Develop Technician capabilities through coaching and mentoring.
• Assist in shutdown planning and lead execution of that work.
• Execute equipment changeovers and optimize changeover procedures.
• Lead and collaborate with team members to solve problems and drive to root cause.
• Learn and teach equipment theory of operation and manufacturing processes.
• Apply GP mechanical reliability standards.

Job description

The Georgia Pacific facility in Rincon, GA currently recruiting for a Converting Advanced Technician.

Shift: 4 10-hour shifts Monday to Thursday and Tuesday to Friday (5:50am to 4:10pm). Hours are subject to change based on business need.

Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Our Savannah River Mill in Rincon, GA began operations in October 1986 and is considered a world-class operation in the industry. Five of the world’s 12 largest tissue paper machines reside at the facility. Our operation is designed to produce products primarily from recycled fiber. We have over 50 converting lines that make the tissue, towel, and napkin products in our retail and away from home markets. What You Will Do

• Apply knowledge and expertise while building and improving asset strategies by evaluating and developing operating limits, operator basic core (OBC) and lube routes, planned work, preventative maintenance job plans, and vendor-recommended parts strategies, providing feedback and recommendations when needed
• Develop Technician and Reliability Technician capabilities through coaching, mentoring and field assessments
• Assist in shutdown planning and lead execution of that work
• Execute equipment changeovers and optimize changeover procedures
• Actively lead and collaborate with team members to solve problems and drive to the root cause
• Learn, apply and teach equipment theory of operation and manufacturing processes
• Apply knowledge of GP mechanical reliability standards

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Two or more years of experience as a reliability technician OR similar manufacturing maintenance role
• Demonstrated experience mentoring and coaching team members
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Demonstrated experience in mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting and repairing
• Experience supporting asset reliability initiatives and shutdown planning
