Responsibilities

As our Conventional/Manual Machinist, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Operating and maintaining various types of manual machining equipment including mills and lathes.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal products.
  • Laying out and marking dimensions and reference lines on material to develop and trace patterns of product or parts, or uses templates.
  • Setting up and operating fabricating machines such as shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls, and routers, to cut, bend, block and form, or straighten materials.
  • Inspecting assemblies and installations for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, scales, and micrometers.
  • Meeting production deadlines while ensuring the delivery of high-quality products.
  • Adhering to all safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives and suggesting ways to enhance efficiency and product quality.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this role should possess the following qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with a technical degree or certification in Machining Technology or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a machinist, specifically with manual/conventional machining.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining mills and lathes.
  • Strong understanding of quality control principles and precision measurement techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
