Job summary

Ruhrpumpen Group in Tulsa, OK, is seeking an experienced machinist to plan, set up, and operate conventional machine tools to produce parts to exact tolerances. Expect operation of engine lathes, radial drill/mill, and TOS mill/broach as needed.

The role requires studying complex blueprints, performing precise measurements, and maintaining tool calibration. Prior CNC experience plus willingness to learn is valued, with training available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

Job Summary

To plan, set-up, modify and operate conventional machine tools. This requires the production of parts to exacting tolerances and finishes. Includes all conventional machines below, based on need to move people around. Machines to be operated: Engine Lathes, Radial Drill/Mill (Bridgeport, Mecof), TOS Mill & Broach (keyway).

Responsibilities and Duties

• Plans how operations will be performed on the machine. This includes part holding and alignment, proper tooling. Read and follow complex blueprints and sketches, make machine and tooling adjustments for a wide range of parts, operateboth part and tool probing for accurate measurements, along with a varietyofprecision measuring instruments to verify exact tolerances and finishes.
• Perform required mathematical computations. Run through involved tooling and process readouts to verify program readiness.
• Performs other related duties such as makinglayouts, performingincidental bench operations, grindingand settingtools for special machining configurations.
• Assist other machinist in set up and/or training as required.
• Assist Maintenance personnel in maintenance and servicing of the machine.
• Perform minor maintenance and servicing of machines such as cleaning and oiling machines.
• Maintain work area in a safe, clean, and orderly condition.
• Operate crane, forkliftand other power equipment.
• Furnishes own hand tools necessary to perform duties.
• Performs other duties as may be required. Follows appropriate handling and disposal of hazardous waste in compliancewith JHA Regulations. Knowledge of applicable Safety Data Sheets(SDS).
• For protection of self and others, performs all work in accordance with established safety practices and facility safety rules.
• Produces quality on time parts and complies with ISO 9000 requirements.
• All personal tools will follow company RPI calibration requirements.

Qualifications and Skills

Prefer completion of two to four years Trade or Technical School, or equivalent, requiring use of advanced shop

mathematics, together with the use of complicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables, handbook

formulas, and a wide variety of precision measuring instruments. Must be able to read and write English.

High School Diploma or Equivalent.

1 to 3 years' experience preferred, but will train someone with CNC Machining experience willing to learn.
