Job summary

Hei Hotels Inc. is seeking a part-time Banquet Set-Up associate in Greenwich, CT. You will assist with banquet preparations, set up meeting rooms to guest specifications, and ensure positive guest experiences through efficient room turnover and upkeep.

The role requires heavy lifting, long hours on your feet, and flexible AM/PM/weekend/holiday availability. Training is provided, and you will work in a dynamic hospitality environment at a landmark hotel.

Qualifications

• Experience with banquet room equipment and setup styles.
• Ability to lift/move tables, chairs, and podium up to 100 lbs.
• Ability to lift/carry items up to 500 lbs with/without accommodation.
• Stand for long periods.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Flexible AM/PM/Weekend/Holiday availability.

Responsibilities

• Set up meeting rooms to guest specifications.
• Transport heavy materials to rooms.
• Supply and replenish meeting rooms with glasses and water.
• Break down rooms after meetings and return items to storage.
• Maintain cleaning schedule for rooms and ballrooms.
• Adhere to attendance rules and regular work schedule.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Overview

Assist Banquet Manager in the preparing for banquet guests and ensure positive guest experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Communicate with supervisor throughout shift to be aware of the work.
• Set up all meeting rooms to the specifications of the guest.
• This includes considerable physical activity in transporting awkward and heavy materials such as staging, tables, chairs, dance floors, etc., from storage area to meeting rooms.
• Supply and replenish meeting rooms with clean glasses and fresh water.
• Break down all meeting rooms where meetings have concluded and return to storage closet so the room will be available to be reset for the next function.
• Maintain established cleaning schedule of meeting rooms and ballrooms so the rooms stay presentable at all times.
• Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
• Perform any other job‑related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

• Knowledge of various types of equipment and set up styles used in the meeting rooms.
• For example: different table types (round, schoolroom, etc.).
• Ability to lift and move multiple tables and chairs and podiums weighing up to 100 lbs. through a crowded room with or without reasonable accommodation.
• This position requires considerable physical activity on a continuous basis throughout the shift for room set up and break down with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise move or push goods on a hand cart/truck weighing a maximum of 500 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc.
• Flexiable schedule required AM/PM/Weekend/Holiday availability required.
