Description

The banquet manager is responsible for negotiating with guests and patrons for various functions, ensuring all arrangements such as menus, bar setups, and room configurations are in line with policies and procedures. They must communicate these arrangements effectively to other departments to ensure the success of each event.

Responsibilities:

  1. Negotiate with guests and patrons for banquets, meetings, and functions, including all arrangements such as menus, bar setups, and room configurations, following policy and procedure. Inform other departments of arrangements in writing post-negotiation.
  2. Collaborate closely with the setup team to maximize facility utilization for catering functions.
  3. Maintain sales quotas as budgeted.
  4. Solicit banquet business, accurately record bookings, and finalize arrangements.
  5. Handle modifications to Banquet Event Orders (BEO) effectively.
  6. Finalize BEO details through customer contact, receiving the finalized program, and distributing the documents.
  7. Achieve or surpass booking goals each month by engaging directly with potential clients.
  8. Perform MOD responsibilities as directed by hotel policy.
  9. Prepare weekly forecasts for banquet functions accurately.
  10. Conduct site tours of the hotel’s banquet facilities for potential clients.
  11. Adhere to work schedules reliably.
  12. Work cooperatively and professionally with colleagues.
  13. Maintain professional appearance and personal hygiene.
  14. Keep the work area clean and organized.
  15. Follow all policies, procedures, and practices diligently.
  16. Promptly report work-related issues or guest complaints to management.
  17. Practice proactive hospitality and ensure guest satisfaction.
  18. Follow safety and security procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
  19. Comply with all relevant laws and regulations.
  20. Be familiar with emergency procedures for various situations.
  21. Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

Position Summary: To coordinate, manage, and prepare all event documentation, liaise with sales and other departments, and ensure high-quality service for property events. Recognize opportunities for up-selling and enhancements.

  • Previous experience in hotel convention sales or related industry.
  • Conduct all duties ethically and in compliance with laws and company policies.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills.
