Job summary

Gillette Air Conditioning seeks a Controls Wiring Technician to install low voltage wiring and control systems on construction sites for HVAC and building automation projects.

You will read proposals, install wiring, and verify systems for quality and inspection readiness in a dynamic, on-site environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Install low voltage wiring, conduit, controllers, and sensors for control systems.
  • Read and interpret proposals for Energy Management Control Systems (EMCS) or Building Automation Systems (BAS).
  • Read and understand construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Request and manage materials and equipment for assigned project.
  • Ensure adherence to job specs and state/local codes.
  • Assist with HVAC equipment startups and troubleshooting.
  • Test systems after installation for quality and inspection readiness.
  • Ensure wire sizes, supports, and controllers are correct for the application.

SUMMARY:

The Controls Wiring Technician is responsible for the installation of low voltage wiring systems in a construction and job-site environment. This position is ideal for individuals looking to install low voltage wiring and controls systems for HVAC and/or whole building automation systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to read and interpret proposals for Energy Management Control Systems (EMCS) or Building Automation Systems (BAS)
  • Install low voltage wiring, conduit, controllers, and sensors for control systems
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings, plans, and specifications
  • Request and manage materials and equipment for assigned project
  • Ensure adherence to job specific specs as well as state and local codes
  • Assist with HVAC equipment startups and troubleshooting
  • Test systems after installation to ensure a quality install and setup for inspection
  • Ensure wire sizes, supports, and controllers are correct for the application

  • Willingness to work as part of an installation crew and take direction from a crew foreman
  • Demonstrates and promotes a spirit of cooperation and teamwork throughout the company
  • Works collaboratively with supervisors and fellow team members
  • Continually looks for ways to improve processes, efficiency, and personal performance
CUSTOMER SERVICE:
  • Performs all duties with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction
  • Supports Company efforts to meet production schedules and customer requirements
  • Communicates professionally with supervisors and team members to resolve issues
SAFETY:
  • Follows all Company safety programs and policies
  • Uses required PPE at all times when appropriate
  • Reports unsafe conditions, accidents, or injuries to the Supervisor or Safety Manager immediately
  • Completes all assigned safety training within required timeframes
