Job summary

ALSO is seeking a Software Engineer in Test for Controls to own test strategies spanning software, hardware, and simulation. You will validate embedded systems and propulsion control modules while managing CI/CD pipelines and test frameworks used daily.

You will read Simulink/Stateflow models and C code, design automation, and collaborate across software, firmware, and vehicle teams to resolve integration issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in EE/CE/CS or related engineering field.
• 5+ years in embedded/automotive test engineering or dev infra roles.
• Ability to read Simulink models, Stateflow, and C code (generated/handwritten).
• Strong experience with MIL/SIL/HIL/vehicle testing.
• Hands-on experience architecting CI/CD pipelines and test infra.
• Test automation and scripting in MATLAB, Python, CAPL, Shell.

Responsibilities

• Define comprehensive test strategies and architectures for new features and systems.
• Translate requirements into detailed test plans, test cases, and automation scripts.
• Read Simulink models, Stateflow charts, and generated/handwritten C code for tests.
• Architect and maintain CI/CD pipelines for controls software.
• Support automated toolchains to generate, compile, and deploy Simulink/MATLAB code.
• Build and maintain test automation frameworks (Python, MATLAB, CAPL).
• Execute MIL/SIL/HIL testing and analyze logs and CAN data.
• Provide dev infra support and collaborate with software, firmware, and vehicle teams.
