Job summary

Wheatland Tube in Rochelle, IL is seeking a Controls Specialist to join our maintenance team. You will maintain and troubleshoot tube mill production equipment, focusing on electrical, control systems and CMMS reporting.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years as a Maintenance Electrician, strong PLC knowledge (Allen Bradley), and the ability to read electrical and mechanical prints, troubleshoot VFDs, and work safely in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as Maintenance Electrician in manufacturing/industrial setting.
• Strong PLC knowledge, especially Allen Bradley.
• Ability to troubleshoot and program VFDs.
• Proficient at reading electrical and mechanical prints.
• Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude; capable of working independently.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains knowledge of process, equipment, controls, and storeroom areas.
• Maintains and troubleshoots equipment, including PLCs, VFDs, sensors, and motors.
• Troubleshoots and programs VFDs for optimal operation.
• Performs routine and non-routine maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
• Uses CMMS to monitor and report on equipment; documents findings.
• Interfaces with maintenance team, mechanics, operators, and engineers.
