Job summary

Johns Manville is seeking a Controls Technician to maintain and optimize production and facility equipment for roofing materials. You will troubleshoot Electrical, Instrumentation, and Control systems, support PLC/HMI programming, and ensure safe, reliable operations across plant processes.

The role requires hands-on calibration, adherence to NEC and environmental standards, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
• 5+ years of practical electrical/instrumentation/controls experience in an industrial setting.
• Hands-on with programming PLCs and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of advanced computer and SAP software.
• Strong troubleshooting and RCCA skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety and environmental procedures and policies.
• Troubleshoot control equipment and calibrate systems; develop calibration standards.
• Provide PLC troubleshooting, programming support, and HMI training as needed.
• Support PID loops, process controls, and automation systems.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration and training across plant teams.
