Job summary

Florida State University is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform advanced troubleshooting on building systems, including variable speed drives and chiller controls, and to manage network diagnostics for BACNet and ModBus systems on campus in Tallahassee, FL.

The role requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) with two years' experience, or a technical degree as substitute. A valid driver's license is required upon hire, and safety training must be completed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; two years' experience required, or a relevant technical degree may substitute for experience.
• Valid State Driver’s License (Florida or Georgia) or able to obtain upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced troubleshooting for complex building systems (VSD replacement, controllers, boilers, chillers, fume hoods, lab controls).
• Perform network diagnostics for FLN/BLN Ethernet and other control system networks; set up TECs on BACNet, P1, ModBus, KNX.
• Follow Maintenance Technician tasks including mechanical, electrical, control, and plumbing duties.
• Calibrate sensors, controllers, flow meters, and related devices.
• Coordinate with Siemens on-site support and energy engineer to resolve system faults.
