Senior Controls Technician will be responsible for the design, configuration, and operation of complete building control systems to meet the project documents or owner’s intent. The role involves developing complex system programs, conducting commissioning tests, and troubleshooting to ensure proper operation of the building control system. The technician must be able to provide detailed reports and submittals to communicate design and operation to customers, consultants, engineers, and other technicians.

Responsibilities include:

1. Designing and configuring technically complex building control systems as defined by contract documents. Creating flow diagrams, sequence of operations, bill of materials, network layouts, and control schematics as required.
2. Creating and testing software programs necessary for system operation per project requirements.
3. Coordinating the creation of necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation.
4. Assisting in the loading and commissioning of system and network controllers, validating complete system functionality, and troubleshooting problems with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.
5. Providing field change information for the creation of as-built drawings, software, and change orders.
6. Keeping the Project Manager and contractors or customers informed of job progress and issues during system commissioning.
7. Performing project training for owners and operators on the building control system.
8. Maintaining a high level of knowledge in Tridium, Siemens, and Distech control systems through continued training.
