Job summary

Garelick Farms, a Dairy Farmers of America company, seeks a Controls Technician for 1st shift to install, monitor, calibrate, and maintain automated control systems. The role emphasizes troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and cross-team collaboration in a fast-paced plant environment.

The candidate will work with electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic components, perform calibrations, and support production equipment installations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduation from trade or technical school or certs preferred in electrical, industrial electronics, or mechanical systems.
• 2–4 years of directly relatable experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Experience in maintenance trades including electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, AC/DC drive systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, welding, machining and fabrication.
• Experience using multi-meters, circuit testers, and other test equipment and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Use software to troubleshoot and repair equipment involving mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic components.
• Lay out circuits and install electrical wiring systems for plant loads.
• Run lines, connections, safety devices, outlets, and switches.
• Perform calibrations on electrical/electronic equipment and record results.
• Install production equipment, ensuring proper motor sizing, voltage, and power distribution.
• Perform preventative/predictive maintenance and replace defective parts as needed.
• Maintain building equipment such as pumps and air systems and take samples as scheduled.
• Assist outside contractors on on-site projects.
