About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and driven BMS Controls Technician to join our team in delivering world-class commissioning support for building management systems (BMS) and electrical power monitoring systems (EPMS) in mission-critical environments. This role will focus on the startup, testing, integration, and fine-tuning of control systems within large-scale data centers, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and compliance with design specifications. You will work closely with engineers, project managers, and commissioning agents to deliver high-performance controls solutions built on platforms such as Niagara, Distech, and PLC-based systems.

  • Collaborate with electrical and mechanical contractors to resolve installation issues and align system functionality
  • Document test results, redline drawings, and generate commissioning reports for turnover packages
  • Assist in the development of control sequences and system logic as needed
  • Support factory witness testing and field acceptance testing of control panels and devices
  • Troubleshoot field issues, alarms, and integration challenges during and after commissioning
  • Ensure all systems comply with project specifications, local codes, and operational requirements

Qualifications & Skills

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience commissioning BMS and/or EPMS systems, preferably in data center or other mission-critical environments
  • Proficiency with controls platforms such as Niagara N4, Distech Controls, and PLC programming environments
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, electrical distribution, and building automation concepts
  • Experience with system networking, IP addressing, and communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus TCP/RTU, SNMP)
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical/control schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Familiarity with commissioning processes, documentation standards, and QA/QC procedures
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced, construction-driven environment
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
  • Associate degree in electrical, mechanical, or controls engineering is preferred; equivalent technical training or certifications (e.g., Niagara certification) will be considered
