Job summary

Edison Smart® in Florida seeks an experienced BAS Technician to join our team on commercial, mission-critical projects. You will commission, service and troubleshoot BAS/BMS systems with a focus on Tridium Niagara N4 and BACnet/MODBUS networks.

Qualifications

• 3+ years with BAS/BMS or HVAC controls.
• Strong hands-on Tridium Niagara N4 experience.
• Experience with BAS controllers and field devices.
• Solid understanding of BACnet and Modbus comms.
• Troubleshoot electrical, controls and networking issues.
• Read electrical drawings and system documentation.

About the Role

We are working with a leading building automation and smart building solutions provider that is expanding its team across Florida. They are looking for an experienced BAS Technician to join their growing operation and work on commercial, mission-critical and complex building automation projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on BAS professional with strong Tridium Niagara experience who enjoys commissioning, troubleshooting and servicing building automation systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, commission, service and troubleshoot BAS/BMS systems.


• Program, configure and modify Tridium Niagara N4 systems.


• Diagnose controls, HVAC and communication issues and provide effective solutions.


• Work with controllers, sensors, actuators, VFDs and other field devices.


• Configure and troubleshoot BACnet/IP, BACnet MS/TP and Modbus networks.


• Perform system start-up, functional testing and commissioning.


• Review graphics, sequences of operation and control logic.


• Work closely with engineers, project managers, customers and other technicians.


• Provide technical support and resolve customer issues on-site.


• Complete service reports, commissioning documentation and system updates.


• Travel to customer sites across Florida as required.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience working with BAS/BMS or HVAC Controls.


• Strong hands-on experience with Tridium Niagara N4.


• Experience with BAS controllers, HVAC equipment and field devices.


• Good understanding of BACnet and Modbus communications.


• Ability to troubleshoot electrical, controls and networking issues.


• Experience with system commissioning, service and start-up.


• Strong understanding of HVAC systems and sequences of operation.


• Ability to read electrical/control drawings and technical documentation.


• Excellent communication and customer service skills.


• Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout Florida.

Experience with platforms such as Distech, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Schneider Electric, Automated Logic or other major BAS platforms would be advantageous.

Experience working on data centers, healthcare, commercial buildings, higher education or other mission-critical facilities is also highly desirable.
