What You’ll Do
- Maintain facility electrical and instrumentation (E&I) hardware as the subject matter expert.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, and Production Departments to optimize plant production in accordance with process safety guidelines.
- Recommend minor changes to digital control systems (DCS), programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and variable frequency drives (VFDs) in brands like Rockwell, Siemens, Foxboro, ABB, Eaton, Honeywell, Lens, etc.
- Maintain competency in all aspects of the facility’s instrumentation: pressure, level, flow, tachometer, pH, conductivity, scales, load cells, valves, I/Ps, motors, PID loops, and other controls and electrical hardware.
- Support the facility during downtime issues related to control expertise when called upon.
- Serve as an expert for the facility’s data historians: PI, WinCC, and Ignition, alongside the Control Systems Engineer.
What makes you a good fit
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in Chemical or Oil & Gas sectors.
- Experience with maintenance and a CMMS platform for at least 0.5 years.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic equipment parts, and manufacturing equipment.
- Excellent communication skills for technical topics with Technicians, Manufacturing groups, and vendors.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Preferred experience with LEAN manufacturing including 5S.
- Ability to work safely in electrically rated areas according to NFPA-70E standards.
- Knowledge of process controls principles, hardware, and software including instrumentation, HMIs, analog and digital interfaces, digital control, and PID control.
