Job summary

AIR Control Concepts in Richmond, VA is seeking an HVAC Controls Technician to verify wiring, perform device checkout, and support system commissioning. You will program, troubleshoot, and ensure overall system functionality while coordinating with project managers, engineers, and other technicians to deliver a fully functional system to customers.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of HVAC controls experience, a technical degree, and a valid driver's license with ability to pass pre-employment

Qualifications

• 5+ years of HVAC Controls experience.
• Technical degree in field or relative experience.
• Valid Driver’s License and can pass pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• High level safety focus and PPE compliance on all sites.
• Perform onsite verification of wiring, device checkout, system commissioning, programming and troubleshooting.
• Communicate project status to project manager and coordination with engineers, project manager and other technicians.
• Write and download controller software as needed and ensure programming/commissioning align with design and schedule.
• Respond to warranty calls and service needs; support change orders when practical.

Description:

We are looking for an HVAC Controls Technician. As a Controls Technician you would be responsible for onsite verification of wiring, device checkout, system commissioning, programming, troubleshooting & overall system functionality. As well as regular communication with management, Controls Project Manager, Engineer(s) & other Technicians to deliver a fully functional system to the customer.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• High level of focus on Safety and use of Personal Protective Equipment on all Sites inclusive of ensuring any employee or subcontractor follows safety procedures.
• Integrity focused by doing the right thing in any situation.
• Being proactive in Communication both internal and external
• Working with Commissioning Agents
• Point to Point Checkouts
• Graphic Generation
• Communicate project status to project manager on a regular basis.
• Provide direction to subcontractors
• Jobsite communication and coordination with other trades.
• Write and Download controller software as needed.
• Ensure programming and commissioning get completed per design & on schedule.
• Perform customer training as needed.
• Respond to warranty calls.
• Pursue Change Orders when practical
• Complete administrative tasks such as project documentation, weekly timesheet, expenditures, & vehicle maintenance on time.
• Proficient with HVAC Systems, Electrical understanding & ability to interpret construction drawings.
• Participates in job take-offs and estimate reviews as required.
• Respond to Service Calls as needed
• Other duties as required by management.
• Specific manufactures product training will be provided

Experience:

• Technical degree in field or relative experience.
• 5+ years of HVAC Controls experience
• Valid Driver’s License and can pass pre-employment drug screening
