Title: Controls Technician
Required Shift: 12 Hour Night Shift 2-2-3 Rotating Shift
Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday
This position is a floater role. Hours may vary based on business needs.
Job Purpose:
The Controls Technician is the PCIS systems owner for the production areas and responsible for eliminating maintenance and breakdown related losses. The PCIS Technician repairs and maintains all site equipment, including:
- Analyzing and testing applications for Factory Control systems
- Supporting user departments with operational support for HMI terminals and software applications
- Troubleshooting PLC programs in Siemens and Rockwell Automation systems
- Installing, programming, and troubleshooting VFDs, Servo Drives, and sensors
What are we looking for?
Minimum Requirements:
- Must meet time in role (12+ months)
- Must have approval from line manager to apply
- Must be in good standing
- 2-year Technical Degree/Certificate (Electrical/Electronic/Controls/Automation) or equivalent experience
- 1+ years Instrumentation & Electrical, Electronics, Factory Controls & IT experience
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent lifting/carrying pushing (10-50 lbs) and pushing/pulling (50-300 lbs)
- Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, handling, and gripping
- Ability to work at heights, climb stairs, lean over equipment, and work in confined spaces
- Stand and work on feet for extended periods
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2-year Technical Degree (Electrical/Electronic/Controls/Automation)
- 2+ years Instrumentation & Electrical, Electronics, or Factory Controls & IT experience
- Server, Virtual Infrastructure, and Database Administration knowledge
- Operational Electrical Qualification Certificate (can work independently on live electrical panels)
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain contact with users to gather information and resolve problems
- Analyze and test applications for Factory Control systems
- Support the use of HMI terminals and control software
- Understand networks like Ethernet, DeviceNet, ControlNet, Profibus, and ProfiNet
- Troubleshoot PLC programs and interface with instrumentation devices
