Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc., Morristown, TN, seeks a skilled Manufacturing Controls Professional to monitor and troubleshoot automated equipment control systems. You will work with software to verify parameter conformity and quickly address deviations to minimize production interruptions.

Responsibilities include wiring and commissioning control systems, drafting equipment designs, and collaborating with vendors for timely material deliveries.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in manufacturing controls systems; experience with software integration or troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings; strong documentation skills.

• Build control panels to NFPA79/UL508A standards.
• Initiate and maintain documentation throughout development and qualification.
• Assist in capital equipment installations.
• Troubleshoot PLC and electrical control systems.
• Perform duties in a safe and efficient manner.
• Perform other work-related duties as necessary.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

Monitors the control systems of automated equipment. To do their job, they often use software to verify that the controls are within certain parameters. When controls exceed or fall below specifications, they must quickly troubleshoot the problem to avoid or minimize interruptions to production.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Associates Degree Industrial Instrumentation, Electronics

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum 5 years' experience in Manufacturing Controls Systems. Proven track record of successful completion of projects involving software integration, calibration or troubleshooting. Ability to produce and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings. Strong written communication skills with a keen eye for details in documents.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Applied knowledge in statistics, problem solving, root cause analysis, process improvement and/or Six Sigma is desired.
• Demonstratable hands-on skill in fault finding and problem resolution
• PLC and HMI programming experience
• Electrical Schematic drawing experience
