Job summary

Intertek in York, PA is seeking a Controls Systems Engineer to develop and program control systems for testing equipment and to troubleshoot existing devices across our Building & Construction laboratories. The role requires collaboration with the design and fabrication teams, installation support, and ensuring safety and quality compliance.

The candidate should have a engineering degree with PLC programming knowledge and be capable of traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred.
• Electrical Engineering degree preferred.
• Computer Science coursework/experience.
• Project Management skills/experience.
• 2-4 Years of related experience.
• Strong working knowledge of control devices and signals.
• Working knowledge of PLC programming and network services.
• Strong analytical ability and communication skills.
• Ability to travel as business needs dictate.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to identify the system components and develop the design and functional specifications automation systems
• Troubleshoot hardware and process issues
• Assist in the design process for new equipment
• Test, troubleshoot, and calibrate completed equipment
• Work with other team members throughout the design and fabrication process
• Assist in installation of wiring and control devices as required
• Assist with maintenance of all company equipment as needed
• Create detailed equipment specifications/documents to guide development/ programming/ use
• Provide exceptional customer service
• Follow and enforce all safety requirements and company policies
