Job summary

Clarios is seeking an engineer to drive continuous improvement of plant processes and equipment, including PLC changes, documentation, and Six Sigma initiatives. You will lead project teams, support maintenance, and collaborate with division engineering to implement process changes.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Engineering, PLC experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD/SolidWorks; familiarity with robotics is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required (Electrical, Mechanical or Manufacturing preferred).
• Minimum 1 year of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (internship in industry preferred).
• Minimum 1 year of experience with PLC programming and ladder logic.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Excel, PowerPoint, and related programs.

Responsibilities

• Improve plant processes and equipment; design and implement PLC changes as needed.
• Lead plant teams in development of process improvements and Six Sigma initiatives.
• Provide technical support for maintenance, capital projects, and Six Sigma rollout.
• Coordinate with division engineering to communicate needs and project reporting.
• Monitor new equipment performance; implement capital and non-capital projects.
• Ensure manufacturing processes meet quality and engineering standards.

What you will do

Under minimal supervision, responsible for the continuous improvement of plant processes and equipment including design and PLC program changes, mechanical and electrical documentation, Six Sigma variation reduction, uptime improvements, and maintenance expense reduction.

How you will do it

• Efficiently use problem solving techniques including Pareto analysis, cause and effect analysis, multi-variable analysis, FMEA’s and DOE’s to reach solutions.
• Initiate and lead plant teams in the development of process improvements.
• Provide technical support for plant operations including maintenance support, capital project implementation, and Six Sigma project rollout support.
• Act as liaison between plant and division engineering personnel in communicating engineering needs process changes, project reporting, etc.
• Monitor process, including new equipment and tools, to ensure performance to specifications.Implement capital and non-capital projects.
• Work with plant quality control and manufacturing personnel to ensure process and equipment is capable of producing product that meets quality and engineering standards.
• Review new and modified specifications for proper content and schedules their introduction into the manufacturing system.
• Identify causes and develops strategies for eliminating re-occurring downtime.

What we look for

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or Manufacturing preferred.)
• Minimum1 year of experience in an engineering role within a manufacturing environment. (Internship experience in Industry preferred but not required)
• Minimum1 year ofexperience with PLC programming and ladder logic.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Solidworks, Excel, Power-point, and other related programs.

Preferred

• Experience in Robotics programming, troubleshooting, and diagnostics . (Fanuc / Denso)
