The Electrical Engineering Software Designer at Eclipse Automation Inc. will design and integrate PLC and PC-based control software for automated manufacturing systems, collaborating across electrical, mechanical and software teams.

This role involves commissioning at customer sites worldwide and hands-on work with robotics, motion controllers, vision systems and lasers. Travel to client and supplier locations is required, with a focus on delivering safe, reliable automation solutions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in a custom automation/OEM environment.
• Degree or diploma in electrical, systems, or computer engineering.
• Strong programming and electrical problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on experience with robotics, control systems, and machine operation.
• Willingness to travel 30% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop PLC and PC-based software per project requirements.
• Debug and commission control systems at facilities and customer sites.
• Travel to client and supplier sites for installation and training.
• Test and integrate hardware and software components like robots, sensors, motion controllers, vision systems and lasers.
• Collaborate with teams to improve control methods, safety and functionality.
• Provide thorough testing of machine functionality and document projects.
