Job summary

Astec is seeking a Controls Software Engineer to join a dynamic team focused on developing control software for heavy construction equipment. You will contribute to requirements, software decomposition, design reviews, and rigorous testing across PLC, embedded controllers, and HMI systems.

The role involves collaboration with Electrical, Mechanical, and Product Management teams to ensure trained, reliable, and cost-effective solutions for customers and dealers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the design and development of industrial or mobile equipment control software.
• Proficient with embedded systems development software and tools.

Responsibilities

• Use structured systems engineering approach for the development of the software used to control heavy construction equipment.
• Apply process automation techniques to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
• Translate product requirements into software specifications, design, and test plans.
