Job summary

Focused Energy is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team advancing laser-driven inertial fusion software. You will deliver well-scoped, production-quality features from design through deployment, focusing on automated calibration, image processing, data handling, and supervisory control interfaces used by engineers and operators.

Qualifications

• Must be able to own moderately complex features from design through deployment.
• Experience writing clean, well-documented code and using source control.
• Familiarity with automated testing, debugging, logging and failure modes.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and deploy well-scoped features.
• Implement automated calibration software for hardware and machine workflows.
• Build image processing software for target tracking, calibration, and engagement.
• Handle data and storage for machine and image data, including logging and monitoring.
• Contribute to supervisory control systems and HMI development.
• Collaborate with engineers to define interfaces, review code, and communicate trade-offs.
