Are you an Embedded Software Engineer with controls development experience and a passion for high-performance cars and motorcycles? Our client is a premium, European automotive components manufacturer with a 60+ year history suppling high-end automakers and Formula 1 teams, and has recently established an advanced R&D facility in Sunnyvale. They're looking for an ambitious Controls Software Engineer to join their team to tackle controls software engineering challenges for electromechanical components destined for high-end electric vehicles.

In this role, you will:

• Define software specifications to align with system and client needs.
• Engage in the development of application software for mechatronic systems, with a predominant focus on leveraging the Model Based Design approach, encompassing simulation tasks in MIL, SIL, and HIL environments.
• Create toolchains designed to streamline code generation and software building processes.
• Ensure that the software development aligns with corporate procedures (A-SPICE) and adheres to relevant functional safety standards (ISO 26262).
• Oversee the analysis and resolution of internal or customer-driven anomalies and change requests.
• Conduct tuning and calibration activities for implemented controllers and estimators based on the analysis of experimental or simulation findings.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering or similar Engineering discipline.
• 1-4 years of prior experience in automotive, aerospace, railway, robotics, home appliances, IoT, or industrial automation.
• Understanding of MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow.
• Solid grasp of Controls Theory.
• Python or similar scripting language skills.
• Familiarity with auto-code tools (dSpace Targetlink, Mathworks Embedded Coder) and ECU testing tools and methodologies preferred.
• Knowledge of version control, issue tracking, and requirement management tools.
