Job Description
Job Summary

Controls Service Technician will be responsible for maintaining the computer-controlled systems and automated devices used within the distribution center- facilities to reduce human intervention and maximize efficiency, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of all assets used in the operation of the warehouse.

Responsibilities
  • Work in a safe and professional manner at all times, keeping the safety of oneself and others as their highest priority
  • Perform Lock Out/Tag Out on all assets
  • Desire to learn new skills that will benefit the Team and Company as a whole
  • Perform mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, electronics, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production equipment.
  • Ability to analyze and solve technical and mechanical issues as they arise.
  • Confers with controls and mechanical engineers to preform routine diagnostic checks on automated systems, monitor automated systems, isolate problems and perform repairs
  • Confers with supervisors, product engineering, maintenance operators and other associates regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
  • Monitors sites KPIs and partner with supervisors, product engineering, maintenance operators to improve material handling system reliability and productivity.
  • Safely operate all warehouse equipment, while abiding by all forklift safety training, to ensure a safe work environment
  • Effectively communicate, with Manager and Team members, through phone, text, and email
  • Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System to document labor, assets, and inventory
  • Report any accidents, incidents, or Safety concerns to a supervisor immediately
  • Keep work zone clean and orderly and help maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 12 hours/day.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
  • Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
  • Requires the ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 75lbs.
Qualifications
Experience
  • Previous experience in the Electrical, Mechanical, PLCs, or HVAC fields preferred
  • Electrical troubleshooting skills are beneficial
  • Experience with automated conveyor systems and/or Crown lift equipment is a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work at elevations of up to 50 feet
  • Customer service-oriented attitude with a demonstrated desire to exceed expectations
  • Computer, Ability to use internet to research parts, communicate via Email, and use maintenance software programs to record and accept request.
