Job summary
Actalent in St. Louis, MO seeks a Controls & Robotics Engineer to join a growing automation team serving food & beverage, pharma, and industrial clients.
You will evaluate operations, identify automation opportunities, develop robotics solutions, and support implementation from concept through commissioning. The role blends hands-on controls with client engagement, requires PLC, DCS, HMI/SCADA expertise, and robotics deployment, with travel to client sites and a hybrid, mostly remote work
Qualifications
- Hands-on PLC programming experience in industrial automation.
- Experience with DCS integration in manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency in HMI and SCADA systems for process control.
- Strong background in industrial robotics deployment and troubleshooting.
- Ability to translate manufacturing challenges into automation solutions.
- Experience working directly with customers and vendors.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate operations to identify automation and robotics opportunities.
- Develop robotics and controls solutions for palletizing and handling.
- Collaborate with customers to assess current state and gather requirements.
- Define system architecture, controls strategy, and implementation plans.
- Program, configure, and integrate PLC, DCS, HMI, SCADA and robotics.
- Support commissioning with onsite testing and validation.
- Contribute to CapEx planning and project estimating.
- Develop SOPs and train operators on robotics systems.
