Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Controls Project Engineer to join the Operations and Portfolio team in support of the Electrical, Electronics, Software Control System Design, and Product Cyber Security organization.

Reporting to the Engineering Technology & Safety (ET&S) organization, the successful candidate will be accountable for delivering complex Systems and Controls work packages. This includes developing integrated plans, managing extensive budgets, and ensuring deliverables meet quality and cost standards throughout the project lifecycle.

What you will be doing

  • Planning and executing controls projects for engineering development programs.
  • Ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Maintaining documentation necessary for deliverables.
  • Developing and maintaining project plans using Primavera P6 or MS Project, integrated with the master schedule.
  • Monitoring and reporting project status throughout the lifecycle, managing customer relationships.
  • Making engineering decisions and managing stakeholders.
  • Implementing best practices in line with company processes, including continuous improvement techniques.

Who we’re looking for

Basic Requirements:

  • B.S. in STEM disciplines (Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Science, IT, Mathematics, Physics) with 2+ years of engineering experience OR
  • Master’s degree in STEM disciplines; U.S. citizenship is required for consideration.

Preferred Requirements:

  • 5+ years of engine control systems design experience.
  • Experience with aerospace engine control systems.
  • Familiarity with systems and software development lifecycles, agile or waterfall methodologies.
  • Experience leading aerospace programs through certification and into service.
  • Strong IT skills, including Primavera P6, MS Project, Excel, and data reporting tools.
  • Analytical, interpersonal, presentation, negotiation, and project management skills.
