Job summary

LANCO Integrated is seeking a Controls Programmer (PLC) Intern for on-site placement in Westbrook, Maine. Hours are generally 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with little travel; interns will assist in PLC programming, GUI development, and machine sequence verification.

Enrollment in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering (Junior or Senior level) is required, with familiarity in PLC networks, electrical concepts, and electrical prints. ISO procedures and a clean work area are expected.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a similar area of study (Junior or Senior level coursework).
• Familiar with PLC networks, communications, and interfacing of various devices, both hardware and software.
• Familiar with basic electrical concepts (PNP/NPN, AC/DC, E-Stop) and motor function.
• Familiar with electrical prints and documents.

Responsibilities

• Assist in writing and debugging PLC code per programmer work instructions or customer requirements.
• Assist with programming graphic user interfaces.
• Confirm sequence and operation of machines with the mechanical technician or engineering prior to programming.
• Check function of switches on cylinders, actuators, and other devices to verify functionality.
• Support mechanical and electrical technicians to ensure machines run as designed.
• Follow ISO procedures and maintain compliance.
• Maintain a neat and orderly work environment.

Pay Range: $20 - $25 per hour, based on experience

Lanco Integrated is seeking a Controls Programmer (PLC) Intern to join our growing team. This is an on-site internship located at our facility in Westbrook, Maine.Hours are variable, generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., depending on workload and availability. Little-to-no travel is expected.

Controls Programmer Intern Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in writing and debugging Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) code in accordance with programmer work instructions or customer requirements
• Assist with programming graphic user interfaces
• Confirm sequence and operation of machines with the mechanical technician or engineering prior to programming
• Check function of all switches on cylinders, actuators, and other devices to verify functionality
• Support mechanical and electrical technicians as necessary to ensure machines run as designed
• Be aware of and follow ISO procedures and requirements
• Maintain a neat and orderly work environment

Controls Programmer Intern Qualifications:
