This position in Services Projects for Gas Power Controls Engineering is responsible for leadership in driving customer order fulfillment excellence, working across a global technology team focused on controls services fulfillment from order inquiry through customer acceptance and commercial operation. The TLE will support the requisition, design, structuring, validation, and commissioning of control systems for Packaged Systems (Control Panels) Engineering supporting all market segments including all rotating equipment such as turbines and generators and balance of plant applications. This role, in addition to closely collaborating with our internal & external customers, is critical in driving a team culture of technical system & domain depth, contemporary leadership, on-time quality execution and strong customer-focused mindset.

Apply long experience to provide technical direction to less experienced engineers and mentor new engineers Perform as reviewing engineer to provide technical guidance and approval of less experienced engineers’ work Apply experience to innovate effective control solutions to support business needs High experience developing first of kind and highly customized technical solutions Expert knowledge of manufacturing practices and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) to produce high-quality and cost-effective product designs using solid modeling computer aided design (CAD) software Expert at creation and maintenance of material masters and bills of material in the business information system and reviewing others’ work in this area Provide effective customer support related to project deliverables Provide expert technical sales support for generation of customer proposals Develop instructions for product installation and commissioning for field services Ensure compliance with internal and industry technical regulations, standards, and other regulatory requirements High experience interacting with customers and suppliers required Drive overall architecture, top level design, verification, validation, and commissioning requirement to be used by global functional engineers Ensure adequate system safety, function, performance, interface, reliability, and maintainability requirements are met Support and influence comprehensive test plans for system verification and validation Drive consistent solutions across all controls scope Collaborate with and maintain close, responsive, and productive working relationships with internal and external customers
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Minimum of 10 years of design experience in packaged systems engineering
Strong understanding of steam, gas, and hydro turbine and plant control systems operation High engineering experience in nuclear and fossil steam turbine and/or gas turbine auxiliary equipment and applications Expert in applying engineering principles to analyze, design and troubleshoot packaged systems associated with control system retrofits for steam and gas turbines High experience in review of contracting documentation and customer specifications, with experience creating equipment specifications and detailed design documentation for the development of appropriate physical product solutions Field engineering experience with turbine control retrofits a strong plus Expertise in machining practices, GD&T, design for manufacturability and lean manufacturing Expert with Autodesk Inventor, Unigraphics, SolidWorks or similar solid modeling design software Proficiency in the following additional software applications / platforms: MATLAB, Visual Basic, Excel Macros Autodesk 2D and 3D CAD software Microsoft Access, Visio, and Office Suite Microsoft Windows SAP or other ERP systems PLM systems Nuclear power generation controls or plant operational experience

The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
