What will you do:

Under general direction, act as the on-site project leader to plan, implement, and complete control systems projects with assigned customers. Perform or delegate tasks to implement and fully complete projects including hardware design, system programming, installation coordination, system and network commissioning, and project closeout. Be responsible for the overall financial results of assigned projects including costs, billings, and collections. Maintain a balance between customer satisfaction and project financial results. Actively pursue selling change orders. Coordinate communication with customers during all project phases. Ensure proper execution of warranty. Provide work direction to subcontractors, electrical installers, technicians, designers, and administration as necessary. Ensure work performed complies with legal requirements and uphold the highest ethics. Adhere to safety standards and ensure Johnson Controls staff and subcontractors do the same.

How will you do it:
  • Complete typical installation hardware design and software programming using established standards. Communicate design and operation details effectively to customers, staff, and subcontractors.
  • Pursue additional work through change orders. Evaluate scope, client directives, and scheduling changes. Communicate technical and business issues with clients.
  • Manage the selection, ordering, budgeting, and scheduling of project materials.
  • Secure pricing and availability from vendors and subcontractors, oversee payment and billing processes.
  • Coordinate jobsite activities for panel and device locations, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  • Manage loading, device verification, and commissioning of system controllers. Validate system functionality, resolve issues, and provide accurate documentation.
  • Manage costs, billings, and collections, maintaining profitability and cash flow.
  • Provide coaching and technical assistance to technicians and subcontractors, ensuring tasks are done accurately and within scope.
  • Communicate project status to management, providing forecasts of revenue, costs, and margins.
  • Send warranty letters post-project completion and ensure warranty execution.
  • Develop project plans, coordinate resources, and ensure timely, cost-effective project completion.
  • Perform site-specific training for owners/operators, providing manuals and documentation.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, clients, and subcontractors. Attend progress meetings as needed.
  • Adhere to safety standards, prioritizing employee and subcontractor safety.
What we look for:
Required
  • Minimum of an Associate Degree in a technical field with two years of field experience or four years of related experience in HVAC.
  • Technical hands-on experience in digital HVAC controls systems design and commissioning.
  • Ability to communicate technical material to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently.
Preferred
  • Strong PC skills.
  • Knowledge of control theory and HVAC systems.
  • Knowledge of project accounting, costing principles, and contracting.
